Viewing Question: I’m on the board of a charity. Do I need D&O insurance?

  1. Ok so this is a confusing one. Chances are, you saw D&O insurance in a publication or a conversation, or heard about it from an insurance agent.
If you’re on the board of a charity, if the charity is significant, you probably should have some D&O insurance.
However, generally speaking, it is the charity that should get D&O and not you personally, and you will be covered under their policy. D&O policies are generally complex and tailored to each company independently.
If your charity does not have any kind of coverage, you should probably contact an agent about getting some.
